The International Fight League (IFL's) the first mixed martial arts sport league was able to execute and entertain 5,005 fans in their first event held at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, CA.

The night consisted of 4 teams. The first team match up was victorious for the Brazilian super star Marco Ruas and his Southern California Condor's over legendary kick boxer Maurice Smith and his Seattle Tiger Sharks who were defeated (3-2).

In the first match-up Shad Lierely TKO'd Adam Lynn within 44 seconds of the first round, which proved to be the fastest fight of the night. The Tiger Sharks where up 1 to 0 when the Condor's heavyweight Olympic super star Antoine Jaoude and Seattle's Curtis Crawford found themselves on the ground for most of the fight were Jaoude was able to dominate Crawford and pull out a unanimous decision that read 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28.

It was all tied up and the lightweights Danny Suarez of the Southern California Condors had a great opportunity and took advantage of the Tiger Shark Tristan Wit with an arm-bar submission in the first 44 seconds of the first round.

Now with the lead the Condor's Jeremy Williams did not want to misspend his time and quickly defeated Tiger Shark Bristol Marunde in 1:13 of the first round with an arm-guillotine choke that left Maurnde unconscious and secured the win for the Condor's.

Although the win was secured for the Condor's one last fight remained for the two teams.  Reese Andy proved to be too much for MMA veteran Justin Levens which ended with a 30-27 score on all judges cards.

In the second team match up, sibling rivalry took center stage. Last night age and wisdom prevailed when older brother Ken Shamrock and his Lion's Den from Reno defeated little brother Frank Shamrock's San Jose Razor Claws (3-2).

First out was John Gunderson for the Reno Lion's and San Jose Razorclaw Josh Odom. The fight started off with both guys striking but Odom was able to land a nice shot that temporally benumbed Gunderson but to no avail the Lion stood his ground and managed to take Odom down and flurried him with an array of punches. Odom managed to free himself from Gunderson and was almost able to end the fight with an arm-bar. Gunderson pushed through and was able to escape Odom's arm-bar and quickly mounted Odom, and was able to apply a triangle choke that gave Odom no other alternative other than the tap out that ended the fight at 3:05 of the first round. The Lion's lead 1-0.

The next fight gave the Lion's a 2-0 lead over the Razorclaws when "Big Country" Roy Nelson managed a TKO win over Vince Lucero.  Trapped under Big Country Lucero was unable to defend himself from the array of punches that he was receiving from Nelson which prompted a possible premature stop from the official.

A glimpse of hope remained when Razorclaw's Clint Coronel got the first win for his team over Lion's Joe Martin and little brother Frank was able to breathe a quick sigh of relief.  Although the trained boxer came out with a win, again a possible premature stoppage from the official provided for controversial entertainment and an up roar from the crowd and the Lion's Den.  The fight started off very promising both fighters were stepping up and striking each other in a entertaining fashion. In the second round Coronel was able to take down Martin and with a flurry of punches to the back of his head the official stopped the fight in the first 45 seconds of the 2nd round.

Now with a 2-1 score, the Razorclaws with a renewed hope looked towards their next fight to even up the score, but to their dismay their once renewed hope turned to disbelief when Lion's Pat Healey secured the win for Ken Shamrock and his Lion's Den. The domination over Ray Steinbeiss throughout the fight ended with the judges cards all reading 30-27.

The Razorclaws had lost the team match up but still had one more fight to go.

Razorclaw Brian Foster and Lion's Dan Molina's fight was full of excitement when lights went out in the middle of the first round, and in the second round Foster found himself being penalized 1 point for grabbing on the ropes but even with a point deduction Foster was able to come out victorious over Molina at 2:05 of the second round.

The super fight of the night turned out to be a difficult win for veteran Jeremy Horn who defeated Hawaii's Niko Vitale in a controversial split decision of  48-47, 47-48 and 48-47 — in his favor.

Last nights IFL 2007 season premier ended with a bang and the season promises to have great entertainment for its fans.
