13thround: Your facing Cesar Bazan Friday October 13th, 2006: You both have been in there with some great world champions and you both are former world champs. You seem pretty evenly matched, that’s uncommon today in boxing most guys just want to fight easy opponents for big paydays, why did you take this fight? Randall: I want another title shot, It's that simple by fighting a guy like Bazan, who is another (like myself) proven ring warrior that wants the same thing as me, a title shot! 13thround: How tough do you think this fight will be? Randall: I think it’s going to be good, Bazan is a straight forward stand up fighter, he’s coming to win. He's a former world champ and i'm sure he want's to be on top once again. 13thround: Any thoughts or predictions? Randall: I really don’t see it going the distance, 13thround: Lets talk about “Warriors Boxing” and your quest to gain a 3rd world title Randall: Things are going well, they (Warrior's boxing) are showing me that they believe in me and we are defiantly on the right track. They are treating me great and getting me on track to get a title shot. 13thround: If you could set up your own “dream match” who would it be against? Is there any fighter that you would like a rematch against in the future? Randall: That's easy Floyd Mayweather! As for the rematch that's easy as well Miguel Cotto... I'm a different fighter now, when I fought Cotto the first time, I was not as a complete fighter as I know I am now, I have a great trainer and I have never felt this good. 13thround: How hard is it to get fights, you have lots of experience and it seems like not to many fighters out there want to fight a guy like you? Randall: Man, that’s the story of my life I've had that trouble for years. It gets frustrating at times but I just keep moving forward. 13thround: how’s training camp going? Randall: It’s going real good, I feel in great shape, I’am ready now! 13thround: what can fight fans except to see when you get into the ring with Bazan? Randall: It’s going to be a good fight, but I don’t see it going the distance, I feel real good right now. people are going to see that I deserve another title shot. 13thround: Any thoughts or prediction for this weekends fight between Marco Barrera and Rocky Juarez. Randall: I’m going with Barrera by Decision 13thround: Any final thoughts or messages for your fans out there? Randall: For all the loyal Randall Bailey fans, I just want to say stick with me, WE ARE COMING BACK! And thanks to you guys (13th Round) for the interview. Editor's Note: One of boxing’s hardest punchers, pound for pound, former world junior welterweight champion Randall Bailey (33-5, 30 KO's) has been on a reign of terror since a 2004 defeat to Miguel Cotto. Winner of five in a row, with the last three victories coming by knockout, Miami’s Bailey is well aware that a win over an ex-champ like Bazan on October 13 may just be his ticket back to a world title shot in 2007. 13th Round would also like to thank M. Chico Rivas and everybody at warriors boxing for setting up this interview. Tickets for “MAYHEM” October 13 th, 2006 are priced at $25, $50, $100, and $150.
