Chuck Bodak, The Man of the Hour, Too Sweet to be Sour, The king of the Ring, and a friend for life. Chuck, you are on to something that most people will never realize. You are an artist and you also appreciate the art that is boxing. Boxing is a beautiful sport and the beauty is missed by most people--especially the sports writers. There is nothing more exhilerating than a good, clean fight between well matched and well trained athletes. All of them were lucky to have you in the ring, in their corner. You are the best!

Chuck, in such a dark environment such as boxing, you always had a way of brightening my day:)

Mr. Bodak, My name is Clint Calkins. I'm a former pro fighter and current manager/matchmaker out here in the Midwest state of Iowa. My very close friend Tony Tubbs is staying out here with me and he got a kick out of seeing this old pic on your website from the amateur days. He had great times. He talked about how you always slept on the floor and you were always chasing the ladies and getting those young ones too! LOL :-} We both wish you the best

God Bless Clint Calkins and Tony "TNT" Tubbs

Chuck, I have watched you since Lassie was a pup and only wish to gain 1/1000 of the knowledge you have about this sport. I manage Tyrone Harris (130lb) from Lansing Michigan and he is now 14-1-0-12 and had his first defeat last month. We all blamed ourselves and never pointed a finger at anyone. We have buried our pride, stepped off our high horse, been greatly humbled and intend on following the thoughts of our Lord in a very hard business. I would like to express our prayers and thoughts to you and thank you for all the exciting battles you were involved in over the years. We all look up to you as a fine man and great cut man.

Gary "GB" Brandenburg - Manager, Tyrone Harris

I'm a professional boxer. My name is Jesus "El Martillo" Gonzales. I remember when I was a kid, you were in my hometown Phoenix at a Swap Meet for some fights and I'll never forget you when a old mexican man was working, you can tell he was a very poor guy. You looked at him and pulled all the money out your pocket and gave it to him! I thought that was one of the nicest things I ever saw! And one time I was boxing at the Blue & Gold Amateur tournament and you were signing your own dollar bills! I think your a wonderful person and wish people were more like you! Especially in professional boxing. Miguel Diaz was my cut man, but I found him to be very insulting. I fought my second pro fight at the Staple Center, on the Morales vs. Espadas undercard and you were a cut man that night for some heavyweight! You were in the same dressing room as me and I loved the way you wrapped hands! It was perfect!!! I'm writing you to let you know you always have a fan right here.

Chuck, You are truly amazing, and the things that you have been involved and accomplished is truly amazing.  I have had the pleasure of seeing you at several fights, and I have seen how the boxing community loves and respect you.   I see you are still going strong---and that does not surprise me.  Also---I love your website.

I've been fortunate to get to know Chuck Bodak over the years. He's a class act, a credit to our sport because he cares. He also has a great sense of humor, albeit a bit dry....Chuck Bodak knows boxing....

Dear Chuck, It's your old buddy Sal, wishing you a very happy and healthful birthday wish on your 90th. I have always considered myself fortunate enough to have gotten to know you and having become a friend. You are a class act that not only cares for the sport but also the athletes and of course, the fans. Chicago Boxing Magazine might not be around anymore but just around the corner is UNIVERSAL BOXEO UNIVERSAL., my new fight game magazine for the fans, athletes and everyone of interest to the sport. Best wishes!

Dear Chuck, I am very pleased to see that we can now reach you through the Internet. Congratulations on a wonderful career and for your generosity throughout the years. I still have the beautiful bracelet you gave me when I met you during a weigh-in at the Miccosukee arena some years ago. In typical Bodak fashion, I complimented you on the bracelet and you just took off your wrist and put it on mine. That kind gesture has never been forgotten and the bracelet will always be with me; it's my way of remembering you and honoring your many talents. Thank you for all you have given to boxing and to its fans, me included. God bless, my friend!

Man i remember when i was an amateur at The old Resurrection Gym in East Los Angeles (Oscar De La Hoya Gym), you would be there, and after i would spar you would always give me money to go to the store right there on the corner. Man i think the most you gave me was like 20 bucks. I was probably age 11 at the time. As a matter of fact you knew my grandfather pretty well, too. Well Congratulations on your 90th man, still going strong. You were always a good inspiration to me.

Mr. Bodak, Congrats on turning 90. I met you a few years ago after a Felix Trinidad fight here in Miami. You were the most approachable guy I've met in the sport and it was a pleasure meeting you. I also bought your book and became even more of a boxing fanatic than I was before. I miss seeing you in the corner with your pictured crown. It helped to bring a sense of pageantry to boxing that has been missing lately. Thanks for your contribution to the sport. Take care!!
